Our Timian Programme Train-the-Trainer course equips staff in the health, education, and social care sectors with the expertise to deliver our BILD Act certified positive behaviour management courses. Questions about the course
How long is the course?
Four Days in person with six hours e-learning prior to attending in person. Annually the refresher training is one day.
How are we assessed?
Assessment is continuous throughout the course and on the final day of training, each candidate will be asked to deliver a 10 minute presentation on one section of the first 5 chapters of the training and deliver a physical skills training session.
Do I need training experience?
No training experience is necessary as this is covered on the training.
Do you teach restraint techniques?
In line with our BILD Act Certification and approval from the Restraint Reduction Network, we do deliver courses which include physical restraint techniques:

The following course allows in-house trainers to deliver any BILD Act Certified training:
Do I need to work in the field I’ll be teaching in?
Yes, it provides credibility and makes the training more relevant to your sector.
Can I deliver training commercially to other organisations?
As an affiliate trainer the answer is no. We do have a pathway for organisations to become Timian Academies and we can up-skill you to become a senior trainer. Please contact for more information.
Is the course physically difficult?
No, the course isn’t physically difficult. However, we do expect people to be able to demonstrate all the techniques.
How does your training map to PMVA?
Yes, the course allows you to deliver Timian’s accredited BILD Act Certified training. You will be Timian Accredited as an Affiliate Instructor at the end of the course.
