Timian and the COVID19 pandemic

Timian Courses delivered by

Timian Trainers and Affiliate Trainers

This guidance does not override any local policies or Government guidance currently in force) Health, safety and well-being of our instructors and students is our highest priority. We are trying to thoughtfully implement Government guidelines to minimise the risk, but ultimately it is up to each organisation, instructor and student to assess whether they are comfortable participating in the course and to assist with that assessment, we are describing in advance steps that we are planning to take

Social distancing

  • If the course being delivered has a physical component that requires touching other people it cannot be completed in compliance with “social distancing” guidelines
  • Training rooms must be configured to try to maintain additional space between each seat, although it may not be feasible to maintain a 2 metre separation
  • For the month of July* and August* 2020 we will recommend limiting participation on training courses to 6 people to allow for more social distancing.
  • If possible, participants will partner with the same person throughout the training and not practice with other participants
  • Participants must wash their hands or use hand sanitiser before and after all physical practices

  • Each person’s temperature should be checked each morning of the course using a no-touch thermometer before the individual enters the classroom
  • Anyone who registers a temperature of 38 Degrees Centigrade or above should not be permitted to enter the training room or to participate in the course

Face masks and hand washing

  • PPE will be required for all instructors and participants throughout the course based on organisation guidance
  • You must comply with any additional requirements under the applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdiction where the course is taught
  • As Government Guidelines change over time, Timian will adjust its response to the pandemic, and the protocol Timian follows may change

You must certify that you have been continuously free from all of the following symptoms for at least the last 14 days:

  • Dry cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fever (per the NHS guidance, meaning a temperature above 38 degrees C)
  • Chills
  • Loss of smell or taste
  • Muscle pain
  • Each morning of the course, you will be asked to confirm that you continue to be symptom-free
  • If you develop any of these symptoms during the course, you agree to notify the instructor immediately and to leave the course
  • Every time you enter the classroom, you agree to wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser in the absence of running water
  • If you feel you unable to sign because of any of the above, please speak to your instructor
