Level 4 in challenging behaviour and restrictive physical interventions
Services it is available to
Private Sector, Education, Public Sector and Charities providing services to people with Autism and or Learning Disabilities. Children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
Rationale
To increase understanding of why people, challenge, what legislation affects them and how to manage situations safely and ethically. Increase confidence in dealing with behaviour that people find challenging. To give people the ability to breakaway for difficult situations. Also, to provide confidence in safely holding people who present with more difficult challenges

Legal Perspectives 2 hours
Policies, procedures and documentation including recording 1 hour
Causes of challenging behaviours including violence and aggression 7 hours

Behaviour management strategies – Developing Individual Reactive Strategies
Passive avoidance strategies

Restrictive physical interventions (3-7 hours)
• One person guide
